An autoclave is a pressure chamber used to carry out industrial processes which require elevated temperature and pressure. An autoclave will normally be designed to accommodate a specific product. In this case the autoclave was used in the production of components for high-performance motor cars.
Autoclaves each have their own little quirks and need a slightly different technical approach therefore. The main technological uncertainties revolved around sequence programming. Since no two autoclaves are likely to behave in exactly the same manner there were many unknowns to take into account when designing the software.
The autoclave was serviced by an outdated lift table with an inaccessible control panel. The lift table in question was no longer in production because the manufacturer had ceased trading. There were no spare parts or technological manuals readily available. The lift table had to be re-engineered in order to achieve the desired outcome.
DualTEC Services Ltd provided a fully functional system in accordance with the customer’s requirements. The new PC based control system reduced programming time, machine setup times, and provided production information previously not available. Overall operation of the machine became easier and more efficient improving production throughput.
